The Acting President Cde Emerson Mnangagwa has donated over 25 000 tonnes of mealie meal to the under privileged groups in Bulawayo as government sticks to its promise that no one will die of starvation in the country.

The beneficiaries of the Acting President’s act of generosity are Ekhupumuleni home of the elderly, Ingutsheni Hospital the home of the mentally ill people, Jairos Jiri and Tembeni Children’s Home just to mention but a few.

After his tour of milling companies in Bulawayo this Tuesday, the Acting President who is in charge of the food and nutrition cluster was presented with gifts of tonnes of mealie meal which he decided to give back to the people of Bulawayo saying it is government’s deliberate effort to ensure that every citizen is taken care of.

House of assembly representatives from various centres in Bulawayo that benefited from the Acting President’s act of generosity were full of praises on Cde Mnangagwa’s generosity saying the donation will go a long way in alleviating the problems faced by the needy in society.

The government has made a deliberate effort to ensure that its citizens are catered for as they face the Elnino induced drought with millers coming on board to augment the government’s efforts in countering the effects of the drought.
