Chapungu football club has unveiled its new head coach Tendai Chikuni ahead of the 2017 premier season following the resignation of John Nyikadzino as head coach.

The Air Force premiership side Chapungu unveiled the former Shabanie Mine coach Chikuni as their new head coach at a mini ceremony held at Thornhill Air Base.

The new coach signed a three year contract with the airmen following the resignation of John Nyikadzino who has been with Chapungu for three years and managed to serve the Air Force side from relegation last season after finishing on position 13 with 22 points.

Taking over the reigns of Chapungu Tendai Chikuni says he has been scrutinising the history of the team and his focus will be on improving its log standings for when the season wraps up this year.

Outgoing coach Nyikadzino who’s credited for serving Chapungu from going to division one expressed gratitude to the Air Force side for the opportunities it gave him during his stay and wished his success.

Chikuni who is no stranger to coaching in top flight league comes with a wealth of experience having worked with teams such as FC Platinum, Shabanie Mine and other teams in the region.
