Air of excitement as schools open PDF Print E-mail

The first day of school is normally associated with jitters, crying and acclimatising to a new environment, especially for those attending new schools.

For many teachers that will be teaching grade one pupils, it can best be described as a case of orchestrating a choir that has to sing from one hymn book.

The ECD curricular too has come in as a blessing in disguise as grade one teachers receive individuals that have the basics at their disposal.

Parents say despite the nervousness that gripped their children as they prepared for the new term, many of them were looking forward to the prospect of wearing their new school uniforms.

However, like all pupils, the end of the day brings excitement as all the butterflies in the stomach will have since disappeared.

The first day of school will be all but history.
