In the spirit of giving and sharing synonymous with Christmas time, the Lions Club has sourced 230 state of the art wheelchairs from Wheelchair Foundation of America.

The donation will benefit the less privileged, hospitals and clinics across the country.

Speaking during the handover of part of the consignment of wheelchairs to Mavrons and Sons, Lions Club first vice district governor Mr Jonah Machaya reminded the people of Zimbabwe to remember the disadvantaged people in our society by helping in cash or kind.

Lions Club secretary for Harare West Mrs Cythia Rurevo added that their organisation saw the need to remember the sick and the under-privileged and have realised that a lot of hospitals operate without proper wheelchairs for their patients.

The donated wheelchairs ranged from small size 12 to the biggest sizes to cater for all ages.
