A Marondera farmer who is under Command Agriculture farming says the programme is a good initiative which will go a long way in alleviating food shortages.

Kudenga farm in Marondera is a clear testimony of how Command Agriculture is set to transform lives of many farmers and alleviate food shortages.

Farm owner Kuda Kudenga says the government has done a very good job by supporting the farmers, adding that should the rains continue like they have been doing, they will surpass the target of five tonnes per hectare.

He also paid tribute to local Agritex officials who have worked tirelessly to provide expert advice to farmers under the programme.

The farm has 250 hectares of maize under the Command Agriculture Programme.
