The Zim-China Wangzhin agricultural partnership is bearing fruits as the company has managed to put 530 hectares of land under maize with support through the Command Agriculture Programme.

The company which is a joint partnership between the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) and the Chinese has over the years become a good example of a working joint venture as it has turned Hunyani Farm near Chinhoyi into a productive resource.

The farm has 180 hectares of land under a flourishing maize crop courtesy of the Command Agriculture Programme which provided all the inputs for the project.

Zim-China Wangzhin also put 350 hectares of land under maize at ARDA Sisi and Crystal farms in Zvimba North with support through the Command Agriculture Programme.

Two new centre pivots were procured in September to compliment existing irrigation equipment in order to boost production at Hunyani Farm.

Zim-China Wangzhin has irrigation equipment and infrastructure to cover all the 530 hectares put under maize and has a projected yield of at least 8 tonnes of maize per hectare.
